About

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from The University of Georgia in 1999. After spending several years in secondary and early childhood education, I obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling Psychology from Brenau University in 2020, where I received the Ali McNichols Outstanding Graduate Student Award and was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi.  I completed my clinical internship at Grady Behavioral Health where I worked with patients facing schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, severe anxiety, and major depression.

I completed post-graduate training in couple and family therapy through The Gottman Institute and ICEEFT.  In addition, I have supervised with some of Atlanta's most respected couple/sex, family, and trauma therapists.

In 2023 I was invited as a Fellow at the Emory University Psychoanalytic Institute, where I studied with leading edge thinkers in psychoanalytic theory and practice.  I believe psychoanalytic theory offers the best framework for understanding how people develop psychologically within attachment relationships, and I integrate these principles into my work with patients while maintaining a culturally sensitive, feminist, and humanistic perspective.

As your therapist, my aim in every session is to attend carefully to your needs and offer the most appropriate treatment to further your progress in therapy. I will maintain an ongoing dialogue with you about your experience and what you need from me to help you achieve your goals, including session frequency and your readiness for termination.
